Mean: I think I would use mean when I have to find the average of a test scores in my class. This is because it is good for large amount of numbers. It is also very accurate and reliable.
Meaning: How to workout an average.
Example:
Add them all up 40 + 50 + 30 + 60 + 70 + 80 = 330
divide by the number of students 330 = 55
6
Median: I would use median for peoples heights. It shows and divides data into two very clear groups it is really straightforward.
Meaning: Middle value of an ordered set of values.
Example:
Put the numbers in order 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80
if it is an even number 50 and 60 would be the Median so you add 50 + 60 = 55
now divide it by two 2
Mode:I would use mode for number of children people have because it’s more likely for people to have the same number of kids then how many times does each person uses a new pieces of paper a week. Mode is very easy because you don’t need to do any calculations, also if there are any repetitions.
Meaning: In a set of scores, the mode is the score that occurs the most.
Example:
2, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4
put them in order
2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4

This essay will be based on Hardware, Software, Network and People.
A computer has 6 components. The main things to start up a computer in a hardware their must be CPU (Computer Power Use), Motherboard, RAM (Random Access Memory), HDD (hard disk driver), Power supply and Case. CPU is the main thing just like the brain of the whole computer it can only do thing when the other thing gives it information, which is put onto the motherboard. The motherboard is basically where you connect everything. The RAM is where data is stored and the more RAMS you have the faster your computer is this only saves data when your computer is turned on. HDD is where it saves things when the computer is turned off. A power supply is a component which gives power to other components in a computer. You would also need the case to turn the computer on, but you can also do it with out a case but if you have a case it would last longer. If you want to check if your computer works or not there is something that is called a smoke test but it can be quite dangerous. You can do this by plugging in the computer and turn it on and see if there was smoke. If there is it means that there is something wrong with the computer. But if there isn’t smoke it means your computer is ready.
A software is an operating system. You can install Macintosh (MAC OSX), Linux (Ubuntu) or Windows. Linux is basically a mix of Macintosh and Windows.
There are different networks; there are private networks and open/shared network. Our computers can also communicate and connect with other computers. Every computer has an address it is called an IP address, it is just the same as every other address like our home addresses. A domain name is for showing one or more IP address and Domain names are used in URLs (Uniform Resource Locator) to show individual web pages.
A computer is just like a spider web it has different routs. If I was trying to send an email to my friend it would find the fastest rout and it hops from maybe PCCW to other different networks in hk then maybe to some other networks like AT&T then to Singtel etc...
When using the Internet you can see that it does take time to load a picture that you want. This is because when you click on a picture the computer has to find the IP address of where the picture is from. There are these packages which are number and all the packages together is the picture it has to go through all the routs as I said it would find the fastest rout. But if one gets lost it would have to send a message back to say they couldn't receive the picture and they would send the picture back. This is why sometimes it takes quite a long time to load. After the packages has arrived it goes back to number order.
There are pros and cons about using the Internet. If you get use to the Internet it is fast and easy and it is a very good way to connect with friends and stay in contact with them. You can use less paper but you might use more electricity. The problem is people are starting to not hand write anymore so when it comes to test people may be slow at writing and their hand writing could be quite bad. Lots of people are addicted to computer games and Face book. Which distracts most of use from doing work. Also it does make people's eye vision worst. It is always good to have a soft and hard copy because you cannot always re lie on the computer it can always break down anytime. So always remember to save your work and most importantly back up your work into a hard drive if not there is this application called drop box which helps you store your work.
Using the Internet correctly and safely is very important. People could steel personal information easily if you don't take care of what you put on the Internet. Always try to remember to change your password to prevent people from hacking it is better to have numbers and letter combine together in a password this way it would be harder for people to guess your password. There are a lot of different types of hacking some people hack into computers and some hack softwares, accounts. There isn't only hacking people steal, spam, and black mail. This could lead to cyber bullying, Emotional consequences, inappropriate comments, gambling, plagiarism, Drug & Alcohol abuse and pornography. Plagiarism is a thing that could happen with out people knowing, even just taking a sentence out of what other people wrote and put on internet counts as plagiarism. Always try to be more careful about meeting people online, there have been a lot of cases where people have been kidnapped because they meet up and see each other. To prevent it always stay out of trouble, don't hack, don't spam, don't add people on Face book or any other social networks you don't know. Always be on the safe side. Just by downloading a song on Internet is illegal.
